About Us
The
NC State CBI/RNA Biology Group is composed of research groups from a nine
departments representing four colleges. All groups share an interest in
the structure, function and expression of RNA. The group organizes a monthly
in-house research meeting series and participates with the RNA Society of
North Carolina seminar series and bi-annual RNA Biology Symposium. The CBI/RNA
Biology group supports Graduate Studies in CBI/RNA Biology, and is associated
with the RNA Society
of North Carolina
Mission of the NC State RNA Faculty:
- Expand the knowledge base in CBI/RNA biology from fundamental research to agriculture and biomedical applications, from ribonomics to structural biology.
- Train graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and undergraduates with a comprehensive approach to the interdisciplinary aspects of CBI/RNA Biology.
- Facilitate substantive interdisciplinary collaborations in RNA Biology within the NC State community in genomics, bioinformatics, chemistry, computer science/engineering and physics as well as within the more traditional biological sciences.
- Fore institutional collaborations among the North Carolina research universities and interactions with North Carolina agricultural and biomedical corporations.
